Description

EDIT2I've just realised that I had never explained how Mark's power Fission Inducement works in my idea for this character, and what can be the result(s). I'm going to clear it up now; and sorry if it's gonna be long and uselessly complicated:

Fission Inducement:
the energy from the crystal operates on atomic and molecular level of any kind of substance (organic and inorganic), breaking any possible kind of bond; the energy can operate on the material(s) directly hit or on those behind/not directly hit (but in this case the energy still has to pass throught all the layers/levels of matter(s) before. Not very important, since the effect is visible in a period of few instant, yet it depends on how much big it's the target). Who is able to decide what is the subject of the action is the crystal and (partially) Mark, usually they agree on what to do (this is possible because the crystal is sentient, there's an entity inside it and this entity is directly connected to Mark).
The important thing is that the crystal cannot create material, same for Mark: this means that the parts or copies that are producted with the fission derive from the original quantity of substance hit by the energy. For example, if the energy hit a person, technically it can produce two selves of the same persons; these multiples, however, would derive from the substange of the original person, and that means they're different from the original, since each of them will have the half of the original muscle cells, the half of the neurons, etc...So, the more selves are producted from the same person, the less skills/capability they'll have (and with effects on their aspect and body: for example, let's say that Mark produce 12 selves from the same person, they'll probably will be shorter, smaller, with less physical capabilities since all the cellules of the original body have been divided between 12 different copies of the original, etc...). In theory, Mark/the crystal would be able to split a person into separate living parts (of the body) too, separated and no more connected to the original owner (I won't deepen the argument, unless you request it).
However, since Mark has no possibilities to reform the original target from the parts/selves, he, and the crystal, tend to not use this power on a living being, because the effect is irreversible (at least now: neither Mark nor the crystal are able to undone what the fission produces).
For this reason, the usual target of this power are inorganic matters. Living creatures are not a preferable subjects, and tend to be only if other (more acceptable/ethic) solutions are not possible. Extreme results (like to produce the maximum number of copies from a person) are extreme solutions, to be used in extreme cases.

Few more things:
-   The fission cannot produce new matters, but can produce energy into the process; the quantity and the effects depend on how much of the original target is involved in the process.
-   The fission process can involve the near material(s) thanks to a chain reaction/ripple effect, causing more fission throught an indirect process. However the crystal is able to avoid and/or limit this effect, in order to not disperd energy and hit only the original target (if possible). A (very) big process of fissation may result in many indirect fission processes, so many that the crystal may not be able to limit all of them. This is an effect to consider to reach bigger and quicker results, and a problem to solve so that other materials are not involved
-   The fissation can split the power of a person or their personality. The effect is caused by an indirect work on the nervous sistem or on the body organs directly or indirectly responsible for that powers or mental state. For this, though, it's (better or) generally necessary a close contact with the target, the closer the better (the best it's when Mark can directly touch the target).
-   Distance of the target(s) is important: the more they're distant, the slower and less effective will be the result if they're hit by the crystal energy.

This is it. Sorry that it's so long and complicate. Hope to have manage to sufficently explain how the power work or me in Mark character.
If you have more questions that need an answer, or want a clarification on a specific situation/context just ask (:

EDIT1: added the links to the original pages for Mark's powers, to help whoever needs/is interested in them.

--------------

This random character was created during a challenge between me and hananas59, to create a superhero starting from random obtained powers. I got  Fission Inducement and Temporary Invincibility LOL

(The challenge was my idea but I took the topic from a meme I saw on dA years ago; I don't have the link to the original post and neither remember the artist's name. If any of you know one of these, please tell me, I'd like to recover them!)

A thousands thanks to Ni, you've my undying gratitude for helping me to handle my very first attempt with digital coloring, after having seen my horrible results with traditional media. I would be lost without you  Inside Out Emoticon: A Sweet-But-Sad Hug

He wasn't supposed to be posted on dA but I signed him up for a tournament, so here he is :P

Below, there's a brief description/bio of the character, you can jump it if you don't have to draw him (otherwise, it's up to you :D
For the record, the one on the far right is a representation of Mark in a more comic-like style. Maybe, if you've to draw him, this representation can help you more to visualize him, instead of his usual cartoon style version. Colors are the same, and pay attention to his hair ;)

Name  Marcus Davies, Mark for friends.
Age  12 years.
Species  Human.
Occupation  Student; superhero in his spare time (for fun, at least at the beginning).
Physical description  Average height and weight, brown hair, black eyes.
Physical Skills  He's a good athlete (he plays Lacrosse), excellent runner, good stamina, average strength, high level of accuracy.
Personality
High IQ, he's smart, very intuitive, but also troubles-making boy; he's the typical child who has abilities but don't use them. Also, he likes adventures and challenges.
Powers  Fission Inducement (affect: everything, physical and not) and Temporary Invincibility (last: 42 seconds).
Powers come from the pink pyramid-shaped crystal (which is indestructible).
  Description
   - the Fission Inducement is caused with the energy emanated by the crystal; Mark can concentrate this energy into rays to hit distant targets; Fission Inducement can affect also not physical things (for example, mental state) but for this a close/direct contact with the target is needed.
Link to the original page: powerlisting.wikia.com/wiki/Fi….
   - the Temporary Invincibility is activated by the crystal, when in presence of a dangerous situation (for example, a mortal hit); it lasts 42 seconds, than need some time to recharge (at least 1 minute). During it's activation Mark's front locks of hair turns white, yellow and pink (the rest of the hair remains brown). It's a last emergency defence to protect the host (Mark); Mark cannot active it by himself, it's a measure decided by the crystal, who's alive/has a sort of consciousness holded in itself (Mark and his friends are still testing it).

Equipment
  - Suit: The costume is composed of innovatives investigational materials, which provide high level of resistence against physical attacks but not total a total defence, especially against high levels of energy. The costume is made up of two parts: the upper (whyte and pink) is that with the higher resistence ; the lower (yellow) is a skintight suit which supports and facilitates physical activity (meaning at a muscular  level, thermoregulation, etc...). Colors are based on the local school mascot.
  - Telescopic pole, which can be divided in two smaller parts/canes (Mark can use the pole, or the two canes, to physically attack). At one extremity there's a space where it's possible to insert the crystal; here there is also a system of lenses and mirrors to concentrate the crystal energy and make rays with higher intensity/level of energy, so that they're more powerful (aka fixation is quicker; visible on pretty big objects and surfaces) and can hit targets from a further distance.
  - Glasses: cool gadget; also, smart glasses with some options (light filters, night vision, thermal-imaging...) thanks to a remote connection to a friend's station.

(Very) brief background  The crystal fell on Earth from outer space, and Mark casually found it. It's an alien object, but also something more than an object; as a matter of fact, when Mark touched the crystal for the first time, he founded a mental connection with whatever is inside it. The connection granted him the powers, and something more (you don't need to know more about this topic).
The crystal stays always near Mark and can float in the air. The more they're close, the more powerful is their connession.

I've put down many others notes and concepts of his friends and world, but, since they're not necessary for the moment, I won't post them now.

You're results for doing color with traditional media were not horrible. I thought they were lovely.

I'm curious as to what program and techniques you used to color him.

Overall I quite like the design, and the whole this thing has a will of it's own is always an interesting thing to play with and I'd love to see more with this guy.
